What happens at a child protection conference?

What if you don't agree with the decisions of the professionals?

It gets noted but if everyone has voted in favour of the protection plan it then it gets put in place.

are you the parent?
If so whether or not you agree is immaterial.
Basically everyone who is there, other than the parent, votes.
IME they will all vote the same way.
If they all agree (which they probably will) then the plan is put in place.
Then there will be review meeting after 3 months.
In our case, at the review meeting the child was deemed to be no longer 'at risk' and was taken off the register.
I understand that this is quite unusual though, normally they stay on it for longer.

No way to challenge decision? Yes, we are the parents.

no there is no way to challenge what they say.
If they all vote to put your child on the CP register, then it will happen regardless of anything at all you say.
Sorry you are going through this - it will pass.
