Can anyone clarify?

I have been a midwife for 19 yrs but no longer practice. I am reviewing whether I need personal indemnity insurance at the moment and am unsure what the position is for my previous service. I started my career in 1996. If, hypothetically, someone brought a claim against me and an aspect of my practice whilst I was employed by the Trust from this time, are they still liable for this practice eventhough I am no longer an existing employee?
