Notice and holiday pay

I gave a month's notice to my childminder, and paid that. She already had holiday booked for the final week of the notice period, plus the following week. Do I also have to pay for the second week of holiday? Thank you'

As long as you have the correct notice, what she does after her final day is irrelevant to you. If you handed your notice in a work to leave in 30 August, you would not get paid after 30 August so why would your nanny?

That's not right Toooooohot. I don't know about the CM's contract but for an employee, the company also owes any accrued holiday pay, so if you've worked 6mths of the year and only taken 2 days' leave, you will be owed half of your annual holiday pay entitlement (less the 2 days taken) and will be due those days, in addition to the paid notice. Unless arrangements can be made for the leave to be taken during the notice period.

Thanks both - the contract didn't specify which is why I asked. But I decided to pay the extra week as its a lot of money for her and I don't want to feel I've ripped her off.
