Inheritance in Scotland 2 executors

Hello,

Myself and my brother are both executors on my mums will and he is doing stuff without consulting me. (We are not on good terms at the moment as he did as little as possible visiting/caring her at the end of her life but then didn't even wait until she was buried before he started clearing her house) My question is will I need to be consulted at any stage in the process? I've signed something for her bank account but when putting her house on the market can he do this alone or will I need to be involved? Thanks in advance

Not a legal person, but I was in this situation a couple of years ago. We sat down and agreed a plan of action with DMs solicitor. We didn't want to do anything the other wasn't happy with though. What is the solicitor saying?

We've not got a solicitor yet. Both of my brothers have been horrible (I suspect the one who is the other executor is in a controlling relationship as he is always busy and even when my mum was on her death bed he had to go and let his gf out to the cinema/had her family to stay for drinks and dinner/is constantly being called away by her) I'm really struggling with how callous he is being and I've said to him he is never available but he just said he is busy.

Bumping for you. I'm pretty sure you need a solicitor's help. Especially if your brothers not being nice.

I feel for you but am no help.
My mother died intestate, I'm executor but I don't want to sell so need my brother to confirm he wants his half put in his name. He just wants money so is not playing ball so all is in limbo. I don't know what to do either.
Think we both need to pay solicitors.
