Is it correct that, if a beneficiary of a will changes their name, they can still inherit so long as it is clear that they definitely are the beneficiary?

Meant to say: it's not possible to get it changed.

My parents were abusive, I'm NC with them and may or may not be in their wills. I'd like to know the potential repercussions of changing my name.

Anyone wanting to ask why I still expect to inherit when I don't speak to them... I don't. It's just I may be in there for all i know.

The gift (if any) to you will still stand. You may need to show your marriage certificate or change of name deed to show that you are the beneficiary.

Fantastic, thank you.
