Lpoa and paying funeral costs before death?

My mum is an attorney under an lasting power of attorney for my grandfather (with Alzheimer's) with 3 others - joint and several. It's near the end. I understand that the person who organises the funeral has to pay for the costs and reclaim them from the estate (we won't qualify for the grant). My question is, can an attorney withdraw the cash from my grandfathers bank account now while he is alive (under the lpoa) in order to arrange and prepay for a funeral now?

I think banks will allow a funeral invoice to be paid out of the deceased's account before probate is granted. When my dad died his accounts were frozen, but we took the undertakers invoice In and the bank issued a cheque from that account.
