Hi we have had a flood of water into our living room tonight, through the ceiling cornice.
After a bit of detective work we realised the the bath outlet pipe had come away from its fitting outside on the roof causing the draining bath water to flood through the porch roof and living room ceiling, the bracket was broken.
The windows were cleaned yesterday and I watched the guy clean the windows just above this bracket. I wouldn't have been able to see him stand on it, he didn't say anything either
This is the first bath since and the flood resulted.
Can I claim against his insurance?

You'd need to prove that he broke it, and it isn't just a coincidence, first.

yes, if you can prove it but many window cleaners have no money and no insurance so you might get further with your own house insurance.

You inform your insurance company, explain what happened and give them the window cleaners details.

Window cleaner will deny liability and you have no proof so going to be very difficult to claim from his insurance.

I do feel your pain and annoyance though.
