Advice for my poor friend

Friend lives with her H their DD age 13. H has issues with heavy drinking and has been violent (police called etc). DD has been excluded from school and SS are involved, as she is deemed at risk. They live in a flat originally bought by friend from a small inheritance before they got together and she pays the mortgage.

The marriage is over but the H refuses to move saying he wants half of the value of the flat. Friend has been advised by SS there is nothing she can do until they are divorced. Friend would like to change the locks and get some sort of court order banning him from coming near them. Is this possible to do?

Yup.
Occupation Order.
Legal Aid generally available when there's been violence.
She must act quickly if Soc Servs involved else appear not to be protecting the child (they assume a remarkable level of legal knowledge!).
Get her to ring Women's Aid no later than 0901hrs tomorrow morning!
