Parking ticket?

If you drive off while a parking warden is typing your details into his machine do you still get a ticket (through the post)? I parked at the end of a parking layby, off the road but there are double yellows on the end bit, and popped into a shop. Only two minutes but I was over the double yellows so fair cop I suppose.... Once I got in the car he put his machine in his pocket but I'm wondering if I will get a letter.

Yes you will

Yes - if it was a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) and he had taken down enough details to deem the ticket to be 'complete' but was then prevented from placing it on to your car (or handing it to you) then the PCN will be sent via the post.

If he had only just begun noting down info he will simply write 'VDA' - vehicle driven away - and the PCN will be cancelled once it's been uploaded.

It simply depends how much info he had gathered before you returned. If you're concerned simply call the Council on Monday and give them your vehicle registration number.

Thanks, will wait and see if it comes in the post. Will have to be more careful parking in future.
