Someone on bail using someone else's address without permission

Don't know if anyone can help but I am concerned about a relative (AH) who is vulnerable due to serious MH problems, being targetted by someone (BH) who is a heroin user and I believe is being charged with drugging and raping an underage girl.

Apparently BH is out on bail and is harassing AH. It transpires they are using AH address for the court papers to be sent, without AH permission (or AH is powerless/scared/intimidated to make her feelings known).

Can anyone tell me what is likely to happen if I contact the police on AH behalf with my concerns? AH is not in a good way and has become defensive and hostile to my concern and support, which is due to the stress/illness, not reality. I am not local to AH.

I don't know BH's surname, only first name, but since AH has contacted the police before about BH I am assuming they will be able to put two and two together?

Would BH be likely to go straight back to jail, or would it take time for the police to act?

This sounds just awful written down Sad

Have posted in chat as well.

Should BH even be out on bail on such a serious charge? And should the police/court do any checks on addresses given?

Have they told the police that they are living at your relative's address? If so, you need to let the police know the true facts, as it will be a serious breach of their bail conditions.

Thanks for replying Icimoi. I really don't know what has been said, just that court papers have arrived addressed to BH there. She has also previously had police arrive at her door asking for BH and she has had to tell them he doesn't live there, and never has. She returned the post as "Not at this address".

I have learnt today that it is not actually BH who has been charged with drugging and raping, but one of his associates. We do not know what charges BH is on.

It is horribly complex, she feels she is being hassled because she has already talked to the police about this person and group of young people, and that if she takes any further action then there may be worse repercussions for her.

I've had someone staying at my home for around 6 months this person has been bailed to my address without my permission

Police don’t need the home owner’s permission to use the address someone is living at for bail. It puts no obligations on you. If the bail includes a condition to reside at the address and you kick them out, they’ll need to go back to the police to get their bail conditions updated to reflect their new address.
