solicitor coming to my house

I had a nasty accident feb 2013 have a claim on going the place where I had my accident have admitted liability,now my solicitor wants to come and see me at my house ? I just wonder if he will be coming with a offer ?or would I get told by letter. ?

Why not email and ask? Presumably he is doing a home visit as your accident might make it hard for you to get to his office. If you would rather have the work done by telephone just tell him. There is no legal reason why he has to come in person I would have thought and it will be cheaper for you and him as less time if it is by telephone.

I doubt he would come in person to tell you about an offer, that would be done by letter to be followed up with a face to face meeting if required. I would have thought it will be either to take a witness statement from you about your injuries or to discuss your medical evidence. These days it's unusual to see your solicitor much at all in person due to the cost so I think it's good he wants to see you.

As said above if you would prefer to meet at his office or to discuss over the phone then just tell him. I suspect as the other poster says that the solicitor is trying to make it easier for you as a result of your injuries.

He might be building a case for help and support that you need in the home-which might be why he ants to see you there?

It almost certainly won't be to discuss an offer.

Normally when a witness statement or other prep work needs to be done which needs a face to face meeting rather than a phone call, a home visit is offered as a courtesy to clients rather than expecting them to come into the office. I know some of my past clients were more comfortable at home, others preferred to come to our offices (particularly when I was based in Central London) - if you don't want him to visit you at home, then ask for the meeting to be switched to his offices instead.

Is this a solicitor acting on your behalf, or acting for the other party or their insurers (in which case they will have the objective of weakening your case and minimising their costs)

Before agreeing to a meeting you should establish the purpose of the meeting and the Agenda.

If the person tries to stray from what has been established beforehand, you are entitled to call a halt and say it isn't the meeting you agreed to. You might consider recording it. At the very least have a notebook and take notes, and read them back to the other person.

Some people may try to browbeat you or talk you into something.

You are entitled to have time to think things over before signing snything.

hes already been to see me last year hes got all my medical notes etc ive done my witness statement too,hes based in Manchester im in Halifax. the place where I had my accident have admit liability also been discharged from all my medical stuff iykwim going to ring him first thing Monday morning,
