Changing a child's surname by deed poll?

Hi, I'm after some advice on changing my children's surnames.

Both have a double barrelled surname - it's my own - the first part being my mother's, and the second my fathers.
I'd like to completely erase my father's name as they don't use it anyway. I'm not very informed on this issue (I.e a bit thick!) so any advice on how to go about this is appreciated!

Does the father have PR? If so does he agree?

MsBumble · 10/08/2014 11:02

No, he's no longer involved in their lives and not listed on either birth certificate.

It's easy ... You need a witness .. You fill the forms in at home with the new names you have chosen send them off... voila !!

No need for solicitors , it's dead cheap too
I've done it .
I'll try find the link
