Angry at how this psychiatrist treated me

It was when I was a teenager and had been admitted into hospital after being severely beaten up by my mother, it took four policemen to get her off of me. Social worker came to the hospital as they were previously involved because of violent abuse at her hands.
The psychiatrist assessed me as having no mental health problems and that he thought my mother should use more stringent punishment of me and that it would be a more suitible punishment that my mother put me into care there and then.
I'm angry at this psychiatrist and would like to find out his name. Could I go down the freedom of information route?

You should be able to ask for a copy of your medical notes from that time period. Our hospital trust has the info on how to do this on their website.

Sorry you have been through something so awful.

That's great, would it have the details of his records of the night of my admission. I think it was completely unacceptable for him to have said that. I was in a state and maybe they should of referred me for help.

Firstly and MOST importantly I am sorry you had to go through this and I hope you are now safe and rebuilding your life.

How long ago was this?

Pals might be able to help you as should your hospital trust.

What is it you are looking for, some closure on what happened, making a formal complaint about your treatment etc which under the circumstances seems justified or something else? I might be able to point you in the right directions depending on what you are looking for.

Was this an A and E assessment?

I would like to make a formal complaint but it was nearly twenty years ago but I haven only recently found out as I read my social services care records. I think it was an A and E admission as I was rushed to hospital by Ambulance bearly concious. The social worker that wrote what the psychiatrist said in her report was shocked at his reaction.
