Salary not paid in

What happens if my salary does not go into my bank ? other colleagues have been paid but mine seems to have vanished. I have spent the morning trying to contact my boss but she isn't available (both on day off) and ringing the bank trying in vain to get a temporary overdraft extension. If I am charged for failed DD or missed payment to credit cards who is responsible ? or is just tough luck and I should have enough to cover bills without being paid ( I wish I had that much money !)

Their issue, unless it's a new account and you've provided the wrong details.

If you have a payslip, go to the bank and explain - they should hopefully be helpful.

If your boss is off, go to their boss.

My boss is the boss, small company with 5 staff. Thankfully apart from one DD today nothing else is due until Friday. This happened before and she just said she had sent the payment so tough and I shouldn't have payments due out on payday. Helpful !

Technically, banks advise this too, but it isn't helpful!

All banks now do faster payments, but it may depend how the payroll is set up; BACS payments take 2 days to get to the other bank account, so has she perhaps (from a historical reason) got you set up as a BACS payment and not a faster payment? Has she sent it to the correct details? Banks will try to redirect, but it can take a while.
