Adding dad to birth certificate

Yesterday he was granted parental responsibility of his son via the courts.

Mother isn't happy about it, and has refused to put him on the birth certificate. She is also now making up stories that she cant get an appointment at the office for the next 6 weeks, due to work....

Does he need her permission now to add himself to the BC? He has a copy of the PR order.

i didnt know you could force yourself to be added to birth certificate?

Has there been a declaration of parentage via the courts? Did your dp have a DNA test to determine he was the natural father of the child? If so, it isn't up to his former partner whether his name is added to the birth register or not. The courts will send paperwork to the General Register Office who will authorise the local registration service to add his name to the birth register. When this has been done, he can apply for a copy of the full birth certificate. Parents don't need to attend the register office.

sanfairy he isn't forcing himself. He has been asking mother to be on it since birth and she has listed off lots of excuses and proven lies, so that she doesn't have to do it. The main real reason is her current fiancé is being paraded as the father!

The court orders have granted him parental responsibility, contact in the form of a child arrangement order. He would like to be on the certificate for the benefit of his son, due to the fiancé issue.

The order states he is the father, and also states "No paternity issues" and lists him as the father approx. 10 times throughout the documentation.
It lists son as child and him as father and mother as mother... does that declare parentage?

very interesting. i thought it was up to the mother what went on. sounds a v difficult situation.
