Is this harassment?

XP posts frequently about me on Facebook, Twitter etc. sometimes he will use my name in the post, other times he will just hint very strongly that's he's talking about me.

Many of his posts are complete bull or he has twisted certain events. Other posts are about how much he hates me. He also shares things from the Fathers4Justice Facebook page about how some men can be abused by women, and how awful it is that people forget than men are victims too. (Again, no mention of my name, but he has no other chn so obviously about me. He was EA, SA and FA towards me.)

Is this abuse? Can I do anything about it legally? I think I'm going to get my solicitor to send a strongly worded letter either way, hopefully frighten him into zipping it in future. Can I get police to go round or is it not a police matter?

I haven't reported it to Facebook yet and I've got him blocked so will get a friend to do it for me.

No unless he's sending it to you, tagging you, naming you strongly it's not harassment.

If you've blocked him how can you see it? Are you actively seeking out this information? If so he may twist it round on you to say you're harassing him by 'stalking' his facebook, getting friends to search for his post etc

Sometimes you just have to ignore, ignore. It sounds like he may be trying to catch you out and get a reaction.

Im afraid not, I walked into a police station with over 175 screen shots from my ex, mostly with my name on, all they said is "if you dont like it, dont look" It used to abs break me, I lost over a stone and a half with worry about what people would think, but you know what, I learnt to laugh, cause not only was it absolutly ridiculous the shit that he wrote, it was the same cling ons that commented or liked it everytime, none of these people knew me, they were quick to judge but at the end of the day, they dont know who you are or what you have to put up with. Now Karma is taking its toll cause them very same 175 screen shots I took, well theyve been shown to other officials and mark my words, my ex will regret the very day he posted bull shit about me! Chin up, ignore the nasty fucker and laugh....

Thanks for your replies. I think I will just leave the situation in that case. I think it's awful that we have a "don't look if you don't like it" approach to it. (I know the police can't change the law, but it just seems so unfair that they get away with it!)

Yes, same here. The same half wits who comment on it and I've never met them. I wouldn't be so bothered if I didn't have to share a town with the morons! I'm too worried to go out in the day in case I see these people who must think I'm some sort of unhinged cow. I just need to develop a thick skin and ignore ignore ignore.

I'll be honest, it took me a long time, I walked into the police station in absolute tears, plonked this massive pile of shit on the desk and they just gave me a look of "what do you expect us to do" Like i was wasting their time. From Sept to date Ive put up with this bullying, its only since probably April / May that Ive started to giggle about it, its just lies, and liars trip theirelves up eventually. I know what you mean about going out, I moved house to get away from it it w\as that bad, come to think of it, I guess thats when I stopped caring. But yeah, cretins, the lot of them, thing is, these who agree with them and like the post and comment, they havent got the perfect life themself, they need to be careful of that!
