Anyone know what would be reasonable notice to change when someone was expected to work in a frontline, 24hour service please?

Do you mean changes to shifts, contracts? We can have our shift changed at very short notice but we get a payment of £15 if it is less than 24 hours notice and they have to speak to you so if I don't want to change I don't answer my mobile.

I meant changes to shifts. Do you have any idea what time span they have to speak to you before making changes, please?

Well I've been called today to change my shift tomorrow. Not sure what the minimum time span they have to adhere to. They normally make it longer it it's a complete change, say from days to nights but if it's just a change from a 0600-1800 to a 0700-1900 then the day before is normal.
Not sure there is a legal timespan but they can't change it without your agreement if you've turned up for the shift you thought you'd be on.

Thanks. Would you consider 36 hours notice for someone with childcare to sort reasonable? I suspect ex dp is buggering about when he can see the kids, claiming last minute changes at work. He used to expect the universe to revolve around him when we were together, too...

I have to say they change everyone's shifts regardless of if they have children or not, work/life balance really doesn't concern them. What sector does your ex work in?

I respect that he can't do "every other weekend" as his life isn't like that, but the last minute changes are getting ridiculous.

Not sure how much shifts change in that area, I guess they have to have cover out of hours but you would think days would be a little better staffed. I'm frontline ambulance so I can understand the late shift changes a bit better, if someone is off sick cover needs to be found or people die is the bottom line.
He sounds like he's pulling a fast one tbh.
