Do I need insurance to run a buggu walking group

I'm really keen to start a buggy walking group which would meet once a week and just go for a walk around a local National Trust property.
My main concern though is do I need to be insured? I don't want someone to injury themselves and then find out I'm liable.

Thanks

You probably need public liability insurance and it is worth asking the property for permission (especially if you are charging) and if theirs would cover you for a fee.

The other alternative is running it through a different organisation eg my local children's centre have a volunteer run walking group and we use their insurance. It helps them to meet their health targets too.

Thanks for your replies. I think I will contact the children's centre.

I'm not aware that it's a legal requirement to be insured. In fact I'm sure it's not. You can insure yourself for almost anything these days. Personally I wouldn't see the point.
