Hi
I'll try to keep this as short as I can.
Social Services were involved with our family from last summer.
DH and I have 3 DSs all with SN.
The whole family was very stressed, lots of shouting, yelling, aggression by our Autistic 6 yr old, verbal aggression between me and DH etc.
That is a very simplified, toned down version of how things were.
Things became so bad that my older DCs from a previously marriage phoned social services.
Two SWs came, made reports etc and called a meeting to see if the children needed to go on Children at Risk monitoring - we were put on A Children In Need package.
The day before the meeting one of the SWs gave us a report that had been drawn up on the family.
This is where my question of messing up arises.
The report was full of mistakes. It referred to me by the wrong surname all the was through, it had factual mistakes - my daughters became my younger childrens aunts and so on.
But what really shocked me was that my daughters full names and addresses were on the front page, eg Miss XX of XX address alleges that Mr noisyboys3 did xxx, and Miss YY of YY address makes these allegations xxxx.
The SS who gave us the report was "stood down" from our case.
Surely if you report someone to SS it is in confidence?
Also, we had another case meeting in early December 2013 - when all the allegations were proven to be malicious and we were signed-off SS books, but we haven't had report or letter or anything to confirm this.
Should I make a complaint so that we can get a report from them, DH thinks it will annoy them.
Our family situation is now vastly improved, DH is on ADs, I attended stress management etc.
If anyone has any knowledge of how SS works, I would appreciate it.
Thank You
