Ex wants to come off mortgage

My ex husband wants me to take him off the covenants of the mortgage what does this mean does anyone know PLEASE

It means that he would no longer be liable to pay it. What's the situation, do you have a consent order sorted out yet?

Often the wife will remain in the former matrimonial home and have it transferred to her but the lender refuses to release the husband from his covenants under the mortgage as they want to be able to chase him for arrears if necessary. When this happens usually the parties will agree that the consent order gives him a measure of protection by the wife undertaking to accept full liability for the mortgage and to indemnify (protect) him against any action by the lender.
