Hi, I've just joined, trying to get some legal help because I can't afford a solicitor. My daughter (9) who lives with her father was brought to me by the police because her father's computers had been seized for allegedly containing child porn. This has not been confirmed by the police as there is an on going investigation. He has told me its pornography and social services mentioned the 'child' bit. Am trying to get residence of my daughter. Does anyone know what forms I need to download online?

Posted before finishing..
As an emergency, what order would I apply for?

Many thanks.

I can't believe nobody has replied to this...I have no idea what you do but would suggest your first port of call is your local Child Protection service...you could also seek advice from the NSPCC and your local police. I am so sorry you haven't had a response yet. I wonder if there is a different place you should post in...you could press the report button and ask Mumsnet HQ's advice specifically about if this is the right place to post. You posted on 11 June, is there any updates?

You could also try this website :

I don't know anything either but did the police and social services not tell you any steps you should take?

MrsC1969HJ · 16/06/2014 22:36

I was thinking that Savoy....the OP says the child was resident with the father...so where is she now? Surely she is safe and not with him? I would contact absolutely everybody you can think of...even your local court...and ask about an emergency residency order OP. There must be a lot of help out there in this situation...please post again and let us know what is going on!

Is she now staying with you op?

MrsC1969HJ · 16/06/2014 22:53

Right, it seems it's is Form C100 that you need to download. There is a cost attached to this.

Hope you've got it sorted op. Can't believe this one slipped through the net.

MrsC1969HJ · 16/06/2014 23:31

BrianTheMole...no me neither...I would have thought a post title like that would have been jumped on! I hope the OP hasn't gone off elsewhere in disappointment given urgency of the situation. Please post again rwabyomere1978...let us know how you're getting on and that your DD is safe x

rwabyomere1978 · 17/06/2014 08:59

Thank you all so, I thought I'd never get a reply. She was brought over by the child protection services over a month ago. She is safe with me. Because I can't afford a solicitor, I went to a Citzens Advice Bureau. The solicitor a saw told me to fill in an FL104.. which I later found out was incorrect! But was told to fill in the C100. I took that to court, the judge said they'd have to write to my ex, to the police and to social services. Because its an on going investigation, the police will not tell me anything. Social services are happy that my daughter is ok, so they've closed their case.
I know my daughter has always lived with him but I do not want her to go back there.

If there is anymore advice out there, please post it. Iam really grateful. I will keep in touch.

Glad you came back op. I'm assuming SSD are happy and have closed the case because dd is living with you.

rwabyomere1978 · 17/06/2014 09:32

That's right, they came over, spoke to us, spoke to her separately in her bedroom. They sent me a report. They are available for questions but not much help at this point.

Hi OP, thank God you turned up! So pleased to hear that your DD is safe with you. So, it's a matter of waiting for the court to do their thing at the moment. Does she have a social worker? She ought to have. I am a bit surprised that social services have closed their case, especially if investigations are ongoing regarding images. Please keep us posted, even if you just need a "chat" and support. Good luck!
