Does my ex need to know my new address?

I have a 2 yr old girl. I split with her father just over a year ago. There was an injunction against him that has since expired and there is still a pro-steps order against him. I move house recently and although I haven't told him that I've moved he has a good idea that I have. He is still begging me to take him back even after all the DV involved in the relationship on his part. There is no chance of us getting back together.

Do I legally have to tell him where I am living. Child contact arrangements are in place and I have never diverted away from the court order we have, so he has contact on a regular basis. I do not want him to know where I am as life would be unbearable.

Thanks

You are under no obligations to let him know where you live.

3rd party agencies should never pass this information on also.

If you are able to facilitate the childrens arrangements with him without the need for him to visit your home then he cannot expect or demand that he knows.

I really hope that is the case. I have never denied him access and have always followed the court order since day one without falter. Thanks for the info though - much appreciated.

No he doesn't.

It's a reasonable expectation for a parent to know where his/her child lives but if there's good reason like you outline in your post you're not being unreasonable withholding it.

If he needs to get in touch for court, etc. there are ways and means he can do that without knowing where you live.
