Please help; need advice about a contact order

My ex has taken me to court to obtain a contact order. I believe that he is using this as a last attempt to stay in the UK. The judge almost threw it out of court at the first hearing but he threw in a lie, so the judge reluctantly deferred it to another hearing. We both had to submit statements. He has lied and lied. He has lied to me, lied in his application, lied in court, and now lied in his statement. He has told so many lies. The next hearing is very soon and I am so upset that he is using my DD for his own selfish reasons. How can I prove/make the judge see that he is using it solely for immigration purposes?

Unless you have proof you can't...by that I mean something written by him that states his intention to use her as an excuse. And even if you could as the family law court have to consider the best interests of the child (which they nearly always decide is to have contact with both parents...almost however despicable the NRP is) they may decide that his "excuse" is valid anyway.

Some parents are shameless and selfish and will use even their children to their own ends. All you can be is honest, upright and put your daughter first.

Have you got a residence order in your favour? This would help you to make sure she stays in the country with you whatever happens to him.

Please remember that there is no longer such a thing as residency or a contact order. It's all Child Arrangements Order.

You should concentrate yourself in court with what is in the best interests of your DD - not his immigration status. The Family Court won't care (and won't order) on whether he should be in the UK or not. It will order if contact is a good thing.
