How can I keep my house

Owned my house in my sole name, my husband moved in 7 years ago, we got married 5 years ago. Remortgaged the house in 2010 to consolidate debts from wedding etc and I had to add his name due to mortgage affordability. He left me in November. I have 4 children, 2 are his and only work 2 days a week so cannot take the mortgage over in my sole name. He pays me maintenance only and I pay the mortgage and bills. We have about £40k equity but debts totalling £30k (which I pay). Is there any way I can stay in the house?

It's hard to comment without all the fact, the only way I could stay in my house was by getting a mortgage with the Halifax, the only company in th UK that I could find that would give me a mortgage and take into account income including child maintenance, my daughters DLA and tax credits. No other company would take that income into account. I had to extend what was a 20 year mortgage into 29 years to make the payments affordable, so I will at some point have to sell I guess. Mine left me paying everything too...I'm really sorry. I guess if you go to court, he could be forced to pay some of the mortgage...but I think you need to get some legal advice xx
