Marriage legal advice needed please

I'm due to get married in November. I have two children. DS from a previous relationship and DD with future DH. When we met I lived in my (rented) house with DS he since moved in and we have had a beautiful DD together.

DP has a mortgage on a flat in what I could only describe as an undesirable area. The flat is lovely once the door is closed however two neighbours have recently been arrested from drugs busts. The main entrance is heavily graffitied and evidence of drug taking visible.

My question is, when we marry will I automatically have legal/financial responsibility for his property? I don't want anything to do with this flat. It's rented out and at the end of each lease I have arranged another tenant but it makes me ill with worry.

Sorry if I sound selfish, I just can't cope with anymore stress and don't want another noose around my neck. Been here too many times.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

No you won't have any responsibility for it if it remains in his name, however if you divorce, it will be counted at least notionally as a matrimonial asset.

Thank you. That's what I thought but wasn't sure.
