Is mediation free for us both?

I would get legal aid for family mediation. Would that cover both me and my ex?

I'm confused about how legal aid works for family mediation. Ex has got back in touch with me as he got letter about mediation and said he will consider mediation as long as its free for him.

It would only be free for him if he qualifies for LA on financial grounds, otherwise he'll have to pay half.

Our local mediation service has a price structure per person and assesses each person individually.
