If ur children are on a child protection plan are social workers legally allowed to inform the grandparents without parental consent?

If they are in which circumstances are they allowed to do this? Been googling but cant find anything

Hi. They can only tell people with pr, caring responsibilities (eg child goes to live with grandparents) or the professionals that are involved in core groups.

So if there was children under a child protection plan and a social worker told the mother that they will inform the parents own mother without her consent as they consider her a protective factor even though there is another person who is a protective factor

are they allowed to do this or even threaten to do this without the parents consent
and if they go ahead and do this even though they are not allowed what can be done?

I'm no legal expert but Its possible that safeguarding may trump your rights of confidentiality.

Yes its a possibility that they could do this, but without knowing the story its difficult to comment. But yes they could, depending on the grandparents involvement.

Maternal grandparent sees the children but has no parental responsibility
Paternal grandparents also sees children and has been allocated as a protective factor

as they consider her a protective factor even though there is another person who is a protective factor

They can do whatever they need to do to keep the children safe, and they will also need to assess other family as protective factors (but they can only be protective if they know the risks). They also need to assess other family options should removal of the children become necessary

I think cooperation is your best strategy.
