I was caught speeding on 3rd July. I received the NIP, filled it in and sent it off. I then hear nothing until a letter last week which gives me the option of appealing in court or just sending my licence off.

Is there not a time scale that this should have been issued in? I thought you had to be contacted within 6 months?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know they do have to contact to within 6 months or not at all.

But they did contact you, and you replied. I don't think it matters about how long it takes them to reply.

Sorry.

They have 6 months from the day they received your reply to the NIP to asking the court to issue a summons

I am v concerned as i did not receive anything after sending the NIP until a court summons last week. I can't prove this though. I m prepared to take the speeding points obviously but not the additional points for not sending my details.

What can i do?
