Returning personalised goods if not as described

Can anyone help?

I have read the sale of goods act 1979, but am having trouble relating to my case.

I ordered personalised napkins for my wedding, white, with a printed tree pattern, and names and date of wedding underneath. What we recieved are plain white napkins with no tree pattern. Frankly they look awful.

The company says they dont have to take them back as they are personalised, however surely as they are not as described that cant be true.

i.e if u bought an ipad with my name engraved on the back, but actually got a spoon, that would clearly entitle me to a refund, so surely it should in this case?

any advice gratefully received!

If you ordered napkins with a tree pattern and you have order confirmation for napkin with trees, then yes, you're in the right.

If there is no mention of trees then you might find it harder to argue your case.

What does your order confirmation say?

Do you have any proof of what you actually ordered?

yes, i have the catalogue code of the order, which corresponds to tree napkins

I will try and put the image on my profile
