Help please! Exchange of contract delay

Would appreciate a bit of advice... solicitors of the 'people-selling-to-our- vendors' (IYSWIM!) have lost the contract! (Solicitor is in Norfolk; sellers are in London.)

The process of 'finding' the lost contract is taking days and completion date looks less and less achievable. We're getting twitchier and twitchier. Why can't they just draw up a new contract? Is it because they'd have to go to London to get signatures?

no, they haven't lost the contract. It is a standard form with standard ts and cs.. Signatures can be done by post, takes a day.

you are being pissed about by someone. Trouble is, you can't speak to any other solicitor than your own. Try your agent who can talk to everyone, it is in their interest to do it to keep the sale going.

phone four times a day until something is done.

been there!
