Can I use another contractor and bill the builders?

Newly fitted toilet - part of a building project - has leaked since fitting and the builders have been back to repair it three times now. It's still leaking.

When I couldn't get hold of them last week and it was leaking again - (and I'm about to start running my ongoing business from that room where the en suite toilet is, on Monday) - I called in an experienced plumber known to me. He diagnosed the problem. My builders agreed to pay his call out bill and they then brought in yet another plumber of their own to fix it for a third time.

The toilet still leaks and I urgently need it fixed once and for all by Friday this week. My own experienced plumber isn't available this week however.

Builders not available to be contacted today, as it's NY Day, understandably - but have texted/emailed them to get in touch asap and that they MUST get the problem fixed by Friday.

What are my legal rights, now, regarding getting in my own plumber - if I can find anyone to come out within the next 2 days and can trust them at all - and sending the bill to the builders?

I am losing trust in their ability to fix the problem after they've now tried 3 times across the last 5 to 6 weeks?

Do I still need to wait until the builders have time to come back and try a fourth time to fix the leak? Can I force them to foot the bill if i use my own plumber?

If my own plumber doesn't fix the problem either - where do I stand regarding who then pays for further attempts to fix it?
