bought a washing machine from Argos, was faulty from the start. worked for about 5 days out of 4 weeks. we returned it 5 weeks ago. Still no refund, numerous phone calls to argos. They say still waiting for confirmation from courier!
what do we do next? thanks

I am assuming that you agreed with Argos that you were going to return the washing machine and they sent a courier to collect it. Do you have any paperwork from the courier showing when it was collected? That may be useful evidence.

Regardless of whether or not you have evidence you should write to Argos setting a reasonable deadline for them to refund your money and stating that you will take the matter to the small claims court if they fail to do so.

If you arranged the courier it may be that you need to take action against them rather than against Argos.

Yes they arranged the courier, they told us not unreasonable to try and repair the machine! Well yes but he had been 3 times in 4 weeks so was why we went for the refund.
I am more annoyed that we are always being told the refund is on the way but never appears. Thank you, will write to them
