H is filing for divorce, we have two DC, we are agreed they are to be resident with me etc but with as close to 50/50 access as possible. He is living back with his parents and has practically no outgoings to speak of, except a credit card debt and car payment.
When we sold the matrimonial home, because I earn more (I can just about support myself and DC), he took 65% of the equity from the proceeds. He contributes very little towards DC, which at the moment is fine.
I have been sent a draft petition, on which the section about Financial Order is checked, indicating that he may be granted an order. He has spoken to his solicitor, who told him that this is standard practice. Is this correct? I have no money left at the end of the month, I am paying for all childcare etc, even though we both work. I know I should see a solicitor, but I have no money, I can't afford a solicitor of my own
I have written to his solicitor, who said she will respond but I am yet to hear anything. He says he wants nothing from me.
