Falsely accused of assault

I had two face to face arguments with this woman and they happened 5 months ago but now that I have accused her son of assaulting me she has now said I have assaulted her. She has actually said I hit her when I didn't. It has quite far reaching consequences in that she didn't tell the police but social services to 'prove' that I am violent and aggressive. Can anything be done legally or via the police?

Thanks.
