Exemployer harrassing family

Dh has been unfairly treated Ex employer has approached his family members as well and put him down in front of them I am wondering if they are trying to avoid an ET by doing this?

They are looking to be investigated by the police for harassment of said family members. They are trying to intimidate submission but landing themselves legally further in the mire.
