Rejecting a used vehicle from dealer

So much detail I could go into but I'll put it simply in the hope of help at this hour:

-Car purchased August 15th (10 Plate, 70k on clock, £6,500)

-Fault becomes apparent following day along with several other faults.

-car now been into dealer 5 times, this last time for almost a month, during that time customer service has been zero with us having to chase for updates.

-Dealer has failed to repair main fault (severe judder at 50mph +) and car has been returned with original fault and new engine management lights and error codes on dash. Dealer claimed car was all fine now.

Tomorrow morning we will be returning the vehicle to the dealer with a letter of rejection. Is there anything specific we need to do other than hand back keys, rejection letter etc? Do we give them the V5? Send off the green slip? Help!

I insisted on paying £100 deposit on Credit Card as well. Any advice gratefully received at this point.

It might be sensible to get an AA inspection first to confirm the presence of the defect so that you have something in writing. The inspector should also be able to give an opinion on whether it is if reasonable quality. give the report to the garage when you take it back.

Sorry I don't know full procedure either but do talk to Trading Standards or CAB if you can. They should be able to guide you thru steps. Nearly 3 months since purchase so you need to get this rejection sorted.
