I also do private work for the child's mother (who I work with) where I mind him for periods in the holidays etc. My question is is there any legal reason the school would get their kickers in a twist about it?

Have you checked your contract?

There may be something in it that states you have to inform the school if you have any other jobs - I know there is in mine.

Can't see why the school would object though.

Nothing in my contract at all.

I worked as a TA in a special school and several of the staff used to do holiday work with the students as they were familiar to the child and any medical procedures etc. The school had no problem with it but we has to let them know.
