Hi, just wondering if anyone can help?
I've recently returned to work in a job share arrangement with another colleague - we had both returned from mat leave at the same time so it made sense to do this. It's a management position and relatively senior in a small company.
I've not actually signed my contract yet as there were a couple of things I wondered about:
Firstly, the contract describes my job as 'Job share with xxx' (name of colleague). Does this mean that if one of us were to leave, the contract would be invalid and they would have the right to get rid of the arrangement and the remaining worker? Or are we (or they) protected anyway? Would there be any benefit in asking them to re-word this?
Secondly, it lists my salary as what I actually get, rather than pro rata, eg £10K rather than £20K pro rata. Is there a benefit for me in the full salary being listed, for example when applying for other jobs in the future? Or doesn't it really matter?
It may be that these wordings are arbitrary but I just wondered if either of these things has implications we should be aware of.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
