Is there anything we can do to get this skip moved?

We've just had some garden work done & the gardener had agreed with us that they'd remove a fence panel to put the skip in the garden. What actually happened was that they put it in the access lane at the back. It's passable but not an ideal situation for our neighbours who have garages. One neighbour was told by the gardener that it would only be there for 2 days.

It's now been there about 2 weeks. We told the gardener to get it sorted ASAP last Tuesday. He finished the work on Friday & gave the skip company our number, without our permission, so they could contact us to gain access to the lane. We rang them on Saturday & were told that they'd had trouble with the only truck they had that could collect this size skip but that it was resolved & they'd be picking it up that day. Yesterday we were assured that it would be gone. Last night the neighbour who had spoken to the gardener was trying to get his van in in the dark & damage the van. DH has rung them 3 times today & was told repeatedly that it was definitely going to be picked up today. When he last rang he was told that the driver had gone home but that it would be collected tomorrow. Hmm

We're completely fed up & at our wits end with the whole thing - we had a similar experience of being fobbed off by the gardener too. Is there anything at all we can threaten them with to get them to come collect it?

By the time you have done anything about it they will have collected it. We've had the same problem in the past. They always seem to leave them for about two weeks. No idea why.

They'll only collect it when someone else has booked it. As soon as they empty it they have to pay tax on it.
