I was due to go on a short break in 18 days. The company has emailed to say that due to lack of people wanting to go they have cancelled my holiday.
They have offered an alternative, to a place I've been to twice before or a refund. Can they do this so easily?
It was booked through the Secret Escapes website, with a company called Flavours of Italy.

As long as it is in T & C yes they can . However theirs states:
13. All courses are subject to a minimum number of bookings and we therefore reserve the right to cancel and in this event we will return all monies which you have paid. In no case will your holiday be cancelled within four weeks of departure except in the event of circumstances out-with our control.
So would suggest it is too late to do so soley on that basis.

Thanks LIZS, I will contact them and see what response I get.

I'm so disappointed, it was a major feat to arrange time off work, child care and a dog sitter!
