Very quick question about legal term - perdo? or something like that?

I am doing a transcription which seems to include a legal or latin term which sounds like 'perdo' and seems to mean the fact that a witness is sworn in at present, does anyone know if this is actually the term? I have tried looking it up but to no avail :(
Thank you so much if you can help. I am also considering internusment... but have no idea about that!

Purdah - not really a technical term but used for the period when a witness is sworn in. Means that during any breaks/ overnight if the evidence goes over the witness can't talk to anyone about the case/ their evidence including own legal team.

Ah, thank you so much. That makes perfect sense 😀
