No so cold callers -how to stop calls?

Several years ago I contacted a company asking for info on their product. Subsequently I decided not to buy.
In Dec 2012 they started to call me, think they are using a call centre, not their own staff. I eventually picked up the phone and told them I was not interested any longer and asked them to remove my contact details from their database. The phone operator said they would.

Now I have started getting the calls again.

How can I stop it? Number is listed with TPS but that won't help as I expect the company will claim they had permission to call me.
Can these calls be stopped? I have emailed the company asking for my details to be removed... if they don't then is there anything that can be done? They claim to be direct marketing association members, so I guess a complaint to DMA but will that do any good? Is it a matter for Trading Standards?

Any ideas o. How can be forced to stop making unwanted sales calls?

Watching with interest because I'm seriously considering blowing a whistle full pelt down the phone only half joking as I can get in trouble at lifestyle research who call twice a bloody day and have done for three weeks. Every time I ask them to remove my number they hang up.

What product is it?? When I get a rare cold call about, say, double glazing, I say"oh good, can I install that if I just rent this house?" they usually put the phone down at that point. Also, when I get people come to the door I say, sorry, I am just the cleaner...... and they go away.......

I always say "I am registered with the TPS and by calling me you are breaking the law! Please remove me from your list with immediate effect!"

We rarely get any calls now.

Having emailed them, I have had no reply to the email but also no calls. So maybe that will be that.
