We just had a letter from our school about Y6 "cyberbullying" - all the way through it goes on and on and on and on about "the legal age" for using facebook and "illegal use" etc and how they are getting the police into school to follow it up etc...

As far as I was aware it IS illegal in the US for under 13s to have an account, but over here it is merely a breach of the terms and conditions and facebook can chuck you off...

Are they just scaremongering?? "illegal" and "police visit" are frightening some of the kids.... and parents too

The police could get involved in instances of cyberbullying but they would not get involved in enforcement of a minimum age. There is no legal minimum age in the UK other than Facebook's own restriction.
