We have lived in our rental house for nearly 8 years. There have been various tenancy agreements -- the most recent was signed in August 2011. It's for a year and, as with other agreements, we have just continued paying rent and living in the property. So my understanding is that we are on a month-to-month tenancy, with a one-month notice period. Is this the default in England? (The agreement is silent on this point.)
