how do i deal with this i don't know, HELP PLEASE!?!?

hello everyone,
when there is repair to be done, my landlord either tries to do himself or brings people who take so long, do half the job and forget tools for the rest. and for a little job they come to my home many times.
and also, everytime he comes i feel so uncomfortable, picked on and inspected all the time allthough the property is being looked after at the best way.
this is stressing me very much, i am scared something will get broken and i have to tell him, though most aren't done anyway.
what are my rights in this, do i have the right to refuse their repair and ask them to find someone more skilled or licensed?
how can i put a boundry in this?

WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS - I have lived in this semi-detached house for 31 years I have privately rented this house since then. my neighbour next door (not attached to my house) has decided to have solar panels put on his roof. I came home and found workmen up my path erecting scaffolding but leaving my middle gates open so my dog could easily get out - I asked them not to leave gate open as I have a dog - next day workmen come to do solar panels - once again my gate left open and workman walking past my kitchen window - I got annoyed with them but they told me that the neighbour had given them permission to use my path - but he hadn't asked me if it was ok - am I in the right to tell him he is trespassing - I am oap and live on my own and he is a very arrogant person - also this is not the first time he has done things like this.

Monika- your landlord is legally obliged to allow you peaceful enjoyment of the property, though of course, if repairs need doing they must carry them out. I believe they are obliged by law to give you 24 hours notice of them coming to the property, and you should insist on this.

You shouldn't refuse the repair if it is necessary though, I think that would put you in the wrong. Do you have a citizens advice bureau near you, or your local authority neighbourhood office can advise- they don't just deal with council tenants, they can advise private too I think.

i know i cant refuse the repair, i just would like to be able to put boundries.
such as for him to bring some one more skilled who will do the job fast and good, and don't come many times for a little job. evrything they do gets broken again soon and this frustrates me. i have to call them again and get inspected again, another coming many times for the repair. this takes so long, the repairs at the property are like endless. i have many things to do than deal with the repairs and the landlord all the time.

Unless it is something which should be carried out by a specialist ie. boiler by Gas Safe registered engineer, qualified electrician for wiring, I don't think you have much influence over who or how long the job yakes

What kind of little jobs are we talking about? Are they things that a tenant should be capable of doing? (I remember reading 1 thread about a tenant that expected the LL to change the lightbulbs for them every time they blew!)
