Maternity pay

I work as a nanny, 2 days a week. The family I work for are moving house when I am 27 weeks pregnant and I won't be going with them.

Having taken no holiday time so far this year, am I right in thinking that I can use my holiday allowance up when my job comes to an end and then go onto maternity leave?

You can but it may be pro rata depending on your holiday year. Presumably you'd only qualify for MA ?

So you are being made redundant?

You should be paid for any holiday you've accrued and not taken by the time your employment ends.

If you've been employed long enough and earn enough you will still be entitled to SMP from your employers even though your employment will have ended.
