Police interview following collision - update

Just a quick update for those of you who posted advice to me here on an earlier thread.

Interview was fine. Spoke to solicitor beforehand after he had got all the info from the oic. The other driver claimed to have been driving within the speed limit and the only witness to the collision didn't actually see the other car approach.

So I gave my version of events on tape and have to wait 4-6 weeks for the other driver and witness to do their statements so that it can be decided whether to take it further. Solicitor said there is an outside chance of no further action but to expect to have to do a driver improvement course in lieu of penalty points. Court summons unlikely due to lack of any real injuries but not totally out of the question.

I was cautioned for driving without due care and attention.

Am much happier now that it's out of the way and thanks again to everyone who gave advice and opinions on my previous thread.

Glad it's over with.

Did you accept the caution ?

Yes, solicitor said if I didn't it would have to go to court which I would rather avoid.
