Is ok Tenancy Agreement valid?

We have been renting this property for 5 years, signed initial t.a. for 12 months, now on a rolling contract with 2 months notice.

Ll named on t.a. has sold her half share of the property and now has no dealings with it. A family member (of original Ll) now owns whole property, t.a. was never amended he is not named on it at all.

Does this negate t.a. or does it make no difference as we have exceeded the iriginal 12 month agreement?

Current Ll is becoming an arse, just need to know where we stand, as he isn't named on the deposit agreement and we are hoping to move out soon.

I'm pretty sure the TA remains in force until a notice is served on you.

Also, how are you certain that the LL has in fact sold ?

The LL may well be acting unlawfully by selling and not making arrangements regarding the tenancy.

It's now not clear who, if anyone, has legal jurisdiction to serve notice on you.

See CAB perhaps ?

Hi this is quite complicated and not really enough space on a forum to delve into detail. I'm unclear who you pay your rent to, so either go to cab for advice or book an hour with a solicitor (ask for a residential tenancy specialist) and take all the paperwork with you together with a written potted history over a time line of what happened when and what rent you've been paying to who. Only then can you establish where you stand. Put it down to experience. Good luck.
