Crikey how long does it take solicitors to apply for decree nisi? My stbexh signed all paper work on 30th jan and upto 15th feb the courts were still waiting for it.anyone had a similar experience or am i just being impatient???

Depends on how long your sol said / advised / agreed to get the paperwork out. What did s/he say? Give the sol a polite call to get the paperwork rolling out into the post.

Im not represented by a sol its my stbexh sols.i signed acknowledgment of service on 21st dec and stbexh said he had signed papers to apply for directions for trial on 30th jan.i rang the court office on 15th feb and they had not recieved them back to date.i just wondered if thats normal time frame or if im being terribly impatient.they may have them back by now but i couldnt get through to the courts today.

some courts are so understaffed they have backlogs of weeks on their post, so it's possible the documents are sitting in the court office waiting to be opened and processed.

not unusual for the to be a backlog of 3 or 4 weeks in the Court offices. Busy time of year unfortunately

Whooooop rang court office and directions for trial were passed to judge on 22nd feb and they said usually 2 weeks when i got date for decree nisi.soooo happy!!

Not unusual also for court to claim on the phone not to ahve received anything, when in fact it is in their system somewhere.
