Amputated Finger

My five-year-old daughter lost part of her finger last year on the top of the fence at her school. The school say it was a "freak accident" and that the fence is safe, even though children can reach the finger-trap between the points at the top while standing on the ground. The fence involved looks like this (triple pointed) :

Has anyone else seen this type of fencing in a primary school ? Anyone aware of any accidents relating to it ? I can't believe my daughter is the only child to have been injured in this way.

Sorry to hear of your daughter's accident.

This seems to be not uncommon, 2 more cases.

With council advice not to install such fencing.

Together with case BB cited, you can show this is not "a freak accident".

Sorry, just read again ....

Is the fence only 4 or 5 ft high ?

That seems completely wrong.

Also suggest posting this in Primary Education.
